Joel's 11th Birthday

Joel turned 11 on the 15th of February. We took him and some of his friends to a trampoline park. We are grateful for him. Check out a few pics of the fun below.

The Gospel Going Forward...Lives Being Changed.

There is one verse (well more than one) but this one really motivates me and helps keep me focused. It is this one from Acts 20:24  "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace."

We have a task to finish as followers of Jesus and it is simple and straightforward as Paul says here testify of the good news of God's grace. Share the gospel. The gospel as we see in Romans 1:16 has the power to change lives. It is not our counsel, a good book, or some other thing, but the gospel alone has the power to change lives.

The gospel changes us, not just saves us, but daily changes or at least should change us. The gospel which tells us that through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus (1 Cor 15:1-4) we can be saved and made new is not just to save us but to daily transform us to be more like Jesus. (2 Cor 5:17)

This exactly what we have tried to do here in Guatemala day in and day out. And we have seen the Lord transform hearts and lives.
